Out of the thousands of people throughout the country, Prim was one of 30 to reach the finals in New York City. In 2004, she tried out for ESPN’s Dream Job, the American Idol for sportscasters. One year later, she joined News 14 Carolina in Raleigh as a news producer. And with the encouragement from one of her professors, Prim decided to pursue her next career: as a sportscaster.Īfter graduating from Duke, Prim landed her first job in television as an intern making $7 per hour at the number #1 TV station in Raleigh, North Carolina, WRAL-TV. It was then that she realized her time on the court was winding down. After years of competition, however, Prim was forced to undergo surgery on her right shoulder, right knee and left knee during her junior year. While at Duke, the women’s tennis team was ranked top ten in the country and earned a #1 national ranking for the first time ever. After being named Valedictorian, earning a top ten national ranking, and traveling with Team USA, Prim earned a full scholarship to Duke University. There, she trained with some of the best, including Jennifer Capriati, Martina Hingis, Andy Roddick, and Mardy Fish. At 12, she moved to Tampa, Florida to attend Saddlebrook Tennis Academy to pursue a career in tennis. Siripipat was exceptionally good and capable so that she was honored with an academic success title. So she became a student of the Saddlebrook Tennis Academy. She became an avid player and moved to Tampa, Florida 5 years later to actively pursue her dream of becoming a tennis player. When the young Prim became 7 years old, it became obvious that her preference for tennis was greater. Originally it was thought that she would build a career out of her love for playing the piano, dancing, swimming or gymnastics. Siripipat was born on 15 January 1981 in Mexico, Missouri. Eventually, she realized that she was not fighting hard enough for the love of her life and decided to return to professional tennis. Many years passed, but the lady was still in love with her first love and was saddened by the way she left her tennis career. She could not bring herself to watch tennis for more than four years after she left the tennis courts.
